Last month we pointed out the value of having a CPA in your organization. Certified Public Accountants have an obligation to the organization they serve, their profession, the public and themselves to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct. To maintain their license, CPAs may not commit acts contrary to these standards or condone the commission of such acts by others within their organization. In addition, all CPAs usually must have 40 hours of continuing professional education credits annually. It is expected that all CPAs participate in learning activities that maintain and/or improve their professional competence.
