By Umbaugh Announcements, October 25, 2018

Umbaugh’s Tom Traciak was recently appointed to the Michigan Statewide Drinking Water Advisory Council.

Established by the recently revised Lead and Copper Rule and appointed by Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director C. Heidi Grether, the Council is charged with developing lead public awareness campaign materials and advising the DEQ on efforts to educate the public about lead in drinking water.  The Council will meet quarterly.

Mr. Traciak has worked in accounting, budgeting and finance in both the public and private sectors since 1981.  He has served over 350 local units of government throughout Michigan with capital financings since 1988.  His work has included bond issues, lease purchase financing, grant funding, tax increment finance, rate studies, asset management plans, and intergovernmental agreements including utility authorities.  He has particular expertise in working with governments experiencing difficult revenue support situations, with a concentration in water and sewer utilities.

Traciak is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned his master’s degree in public policy and administration from Michigan State University.  He is a registered municipal advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Congratulations Tom for exemplifying two of Umbaugh’s core values of leadership and collaboration.  Please join us in recognizing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on his appointment.
